Bill Wright -- A Man In Love

If there's one thing men and women have in common, it's that being in love causes the same symptoms in
both .

Anthony White -- Love Grows Strong

When I heard Anthony White the first time, I just said "Oy!" How could I miss him? He definitely can sing. His voice  reminds me of Bill Brandon's and yes a tiny bit of David (My David) Ruffin's. In a nutshell: I love this guy's singing.
His 1976 album Could It Be Magic has some excellent material to offer.
His cover of  "Walk Away From Love," (Original by David Ruffin), however, must be considered an insult to the song to quote Sawyer's spontaneous reaction to the track I've sent him. He should never have entered the studio for this co-production with Paul Simpson! The only good thing on that entire recording was Anthony's fantastic voice.

Beres Hammond --Oh, Take Me Girl

'kay! Dim the lights please -- it's softy time. Ask your baby for a dance -- and then lose yourself in this sweet melody.
The song can be found on Hammond's 1994 release Soul Reggae. I like the entire album; everything from the instrumentation and the sweet harmonies is 70'sthrough and through. Beres Hammond's work is definitely worth checking out. Very expressive soulful voice, too!

Little Milton -- Many Rivers To Cross

This version of the beautiful song written and originally sung by Jimmy Cliff is an absolute favorite of mine. I love the emphasis the guitar part has been given in this recording. The guitar substitutes for the almost church-like organ tune in the original version. It took me a while though to get used to Little Milton's gravely voice because Jimmy Cliff's tenor seemed to be an inseparable element of the song as it has been known for ages. Somehow Little Milton's voice struck me as being too foreign to and imcompatible with the sweetness of the melody. Nevertheless, there was something in Little Milton's version that attracted me despite these inital "shortcomings,"and after a few more listenings I found his version at least as attractive as the original.

Earl Gaines -- The Best Of Luck To You

Here's a song that's just right for me ... intense, sweet, and simple. Earl Gaines's voice seems to be made to sing such songs.

Freddie Scott -- Who Could Ever Love You

Hey you all! Yes, I am still alive -- not really kicking though. My house looks a mess -- again! This time it's not the new kitchen, it's painting the walls and getting the house ready for sale.
It is emotionally taxing, too. While I was cleaning out the closets and wall units, I found so many things I had completely forgotten about: memories, memories ...
But most of all, I miss blogging. The process of finding a nice song to post, hoping that it would be something you all liked, I noticed, is such a pleasant activity. But right now, I'm simply too restless to sit down and not do something related to the big event.
Well, this morning while I was scanning my favorite blogs, I found something by Freddie Scott over at Feel It. And I thought I could post something by him ... while I am listening to the music I've got by him.

My choice today is Who Could Love You from his album Are You Lonely For Me?

Spring -- Talk To The Rain

The sweet sound of the 70's.

Today's song is from a 1973 single (which appears to be much sought after according to the comments I've read so far on YouTube.)

Enjoy!

Update

I am sorry folks, but I am quite busy at the time. Hubby and I will most likely move from Texas to Ohio. O-Hi-O ... So it's house hunting time for me which doesn't leave much time for blogging.
I'll be back though in a few more days.
