Dieser Post geht mir sehr nahe. Nicht nur wegen Kim's wunderschoener Stimme, sondern ganz besonders wegen des Schicksals, das sie mit meiner Mutter und allen andern Alzheimer's Opfern teilte. Kim starb im Juni 2007 an dieser grausamen Krankheit. R.I.P Kim Tolliver.
Einzigartig! Diese Stimme duerfte wohl keinen kalt lassen.
Leider hat Kim nie den grossen Durchbruch geschafft. Schade. Ich haette gerne mehr Aufnahmen von dieser hochkaraetigen Saengerin genossen.

I like the choice of songs and there is nothing wrong with the playing of the instruments--although there is a certain careful polish to the playing...it lacks a certain rough passion that I like in blues. I almost get the feeling that Laurie wanted the playing to be perfect and thus didn't take chances, nor jam enough. It would have been fun to hear some out-takes or jamming.
