Wrapping It Up

Okay. Today is our last Love Fest day. I enjoyed the music that you've sent me tremendously. The songs made for a colorful mix. Thanks again!

The last set of "most beautiful love songs" comes from my husband. He picked an Intruders and a Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes song. Surprise. Surprise. Being the Bobby Womack and Isley Brothers fan he is, I expected his pick to be a song from these artists ...

Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes

Was waere der Philly Sound der 70er ohne Harold Melvin und seine Blue Notes gewesen? Ich kann's mir Jedenfalls nicht vorstellen. Harold Melvin sang zu der Zeit jedoch nicht mehr lead (oder nur noch gelegentlich.) Teddy Pendergrass tat das fuer ihn -- und wie man hoert -- tut Teddy das mit anbetungswuerdigem Charisma und Sexappeal. Teddy P. war der Ladykiller. 

The Love I Lost begleitete mich durch die schoenste Zeit meines Lebens, die gelegentlich auch bittersuess war. Genauso wie der Titel ... Ich liebe Teddy's Stimme, und die backgroundharmonies sind nicht zu ueberbieten.   

Bad Luck. Zu jedem gelebten Leben gehoert wohl auch immer die Portion "bad luck," die dafuer sorgt, dass man aus jedem Glueckstaumel mit Sicherheit irgendwann wieder in die Realitaet zurueckfindet. Der Song war ein Tanzflaechenfueller. 

Weil ich nie genug vom Philly Sound bekomme, lege ich noch einen Titel zu. Licht aus! If You Don't Know Me By Now.
